GAROZOKU PANIC!!! ~~~ Things I Love.

Collections

The Things I Love section of GAROZOKU PANIC!!! constitutes my attempt to gather my visual art interests into a series of collections, a personal canon of sorts. “Art I Love” may be a more appropriate title, but I thought “Things” sounded satisfyingly vague, ambivalent and incoherent. It also serves to attract attention to the oft-overlooked fact that art pieces are, in fact, things, and that many beautifully-designed and/or interesting objects normally denied the High Art pedestal and relegated to thingitude may, in fact, just as well be seen as “Art.”

This section will never be complete; there is always more cool arty stuff out there than I know about, and I will probably always know about more cool artthingity than I manage to stuff into this blog. My tastes will inevitably grow and change as I discover more fascinating stuff, this being the miracle of the Internet after all; I will try to create a satisfying mass of pieces, perhaps 10 or more, in one collection before moving on to another, but I will inevitably return to add more pieces to pre-existing collections.

PLEASE BE WARNED that the collections are liable to contain erotic, grotesque, macabre and disturbing content. I will try to contain the most extreme content to appropriately marked collections, but disturbing and erotic imagery is nonetheless liable to poke its head out throughout the site. This is not the right blog to browse with your six-year-old; you have been advised.

THE COLLECTIONS SO FAR:

MONOCHROME MACABRE – Images of the decadent, transgressive, melancholy and macabre in black and white, generally linear, media, including pen and ink, etching and engraving.

SEXUALITY OF THE ABSURD: Exploring the shared ground between the erotic and the absurd, horrific and grotesque. A marriage of sex, death and madness.
